Data Deletion Instructions

Request deletion of your SwayQ data
Under EU GDPR Article 17, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. SwayQ offers three paths: email us, delete from your account, or revoke access via Facebook/Instagram.
Option 1 — Email us
Send a deletion request to privacy@swayq.com. Include the email address you signed up with so we can locate your account. We respond within 30 days per GDPR Article 12(3).
Option 2 — From your SwayQ account
Sign in, then go to Settings → Account → Delete my account. Your account, profile, and all associated personal data are queued for deletion immediately. We confirm by email within 24 hours.
Option 3 — Via your Facebook or Instagram settings
If you signed in to SwayQ with Facebook or Instagram, you can revoke SwayQ's access from your Facebook or Instagram settings: Settings → Apps and Websites → SwayQ → Remove. Meta then notifies SwayQ automatically and we delete the data associated with that social connection. You'll be given a confirmation code visible at swayq.com/deletion-status.
What we delete
When you request deletion, we remove:
- Your account profile (name, email, role, social handles)
- All connected social profile data and OAuth tokens
- Uploaded media (profile images, presentation videos) from R2 storage
- Saved preferences, themes, and activity history that aren't financially required
What we retain — and why
Financial and transactional records (invoices, payouts, tax data) are retained for five years per Danish bookkeeping law (Bogføringsloven §10). Personal identifiers within those records are pseudonymized — replaced with internal IDs — so they no longer identify you, but the records themselves cannot be deleted.
How long it takes
We respond to deletion requests within 30 days as required by GDPR Article 12(3). Most requests are processed within 7 days. You'll receive an email confirmation once deletion completes.
